Judi’s book entitled GENDER, RELIGION, AND RADICALISM IN THE LONG EIGHTEENTH CENTURY: AN ‘INGENIOUS QUAKER’ AND HER CONNECTIONS is an historical study of Mary Morris Knowles, a writer, artist and radical thinker, and her encounters with James Boswell, Samuel Johnson, Catharine Macaulay, Anna Seward and other famous figures of her time. Before becoming Director, Judi, who holds a Ph.D. in British History, received a KFW grant to research and write about Knowles.
