2026 Firestarter Award | (Louisville) A multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and community organizer from Louisville, Kentucky. Her work lives at the intersection of storytelling, healing, and cultural organizing. Through film, writing, facilitated community gatherings, and social practice, she explores Black feminist healing, ancestral memory, reproductive justice, and our relationships to water, land, and the body. She is the founder of Wombs Unite, where she designs programs, facilitates conversations, and builds partnerships that center reproductive justice, wellness, and community care.
Previous Awards
2025 Artist Enrichment Grant | (Louisville) $1,500 to create the Ancestral Womb Archive, a documentary and community storytelling project that blends archival research with oral histories from African American women to uncover and preserve the erased reproductive narratives of the Ohio Valley. This work centers Black women’s bodies, voices, and agency as an act of feminist resistance, The project will expand her skills in archival research and filmmaking while fostering intergenerational dialogue, community healing, and social change through the reclamation of ancestral womb wisdom.
