(Louisville): $3,700 to complete “Regarding Sandra Bland,” a series of photographic portraits of 28 women taken in the driver’s seat of their cars, with each woman bringing their experience of what it feels like being pulled over, often for no other reason than the color of their skin. This grant will allow Hoskins to concentrate on developing her portraiture skills. Showing these images publicly will create a strong message of social change and feminism.
