2021 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Louisville): $5,730 to produce Lipstick University, Lipstick Wars’ second online literature program of creative writing/poetry workshop courses and virtual spoken word performances. These workshops will provide access to a quality literary education for BIPOC women poets and writers in lower income communities.
2020 Artist Enrichment Grant | (Louisville): $4,000 to produce the 6th annual Lipstick Wars Poetry Slam, a life-changing event for spoken word artists, audience members, and a destination experience for women poets in the area. Lipstick Wars creates social change by offering a safe platform for women and teens to come together to present their truths.
2020 Art Meets Activism Grant | With Nipsey Green | (Louisville): $6,400 to create a collaborative interpretive multidisciplinary short film that examines how generational trauma, racism, oppression, and American society has impacted their marriage. The film will bring awareness to the black community and strengthen them as artists by tackling an intimate topic as well as develop the new skill of filmmaking.
