2023 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington): $4,000 to allow seven female or nonbinary writers to mentor young female and nonbinary 9th-12th graders as they explore writing and literary performance techniques. Together they will examine issues of concern to them including body image and self-esteem, feminism and LGBTQ+ issues. Students will discover their own voices and forge connections with established writers.

2022 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington): $5,895 for women writers to mentor younger women in exploring writing and literary performance while examining issues including body image and self-esteem. YWWP fosters positive, supportive relationships, as well as growth in writing, self-expression, and education. 

2021 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington): $4,770 for six female writers to mentor groups of young women in ninth to twelfth grade to explore writing and literary performance techniques while examining issues of concern to them, including body image and self-esteem. The project will help women writers of several age groups to forge connections while discovering their own voices with confidence and self-respect.

2020 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington): $4,600 to invite six female writers to mentor groups of young women to explore writing and literary performance techniques while examining issues of body image and self-esteem. The impact is increased as these participants often go on to engage in other programs and share what they’ve learned through their writing or teaching.
