2024 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington) $2,500 to support a tour of “Traveler,” a show that follows one thread of time linking four American women throughout history to rural/small town communities in Kentucky. In conjunction, the group will facilitate free workshops open to any female-identifying person to explore contemporary dance and participate in conversations centered on American woman and girlhood.

2023 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington) $5,943 to nurture the cost-free dance program, Moving North. Established in 2022, Moving North offers a safe space for girls 10-18 years old living in Lexington communities that experience inequity in accessibility to dance training. Girls express creativity through dance while honing technical skills, cultivating healthy body images, building community between peers and mentors, encouraging social-emotional success and boosting the professional possibilities in the performing arts.

2022 Art Meets Activism Grant | (Lexington) $10,000 to establish a tuition-free dance training program for girls 10-18 years old living in under-resourced communities in Lexington, KY. This will be a safe and accessible space to explore and express creativity through dance while honing technical skills. Knowledge gained will reveal a path to social-emotional success, higher education, and professional possibilities in the performing arts.
